Welcome to the Pavillon de Pampelonne website. We hope that you will take a little time to discover the delights of our little Residence de Charme located 600m from the wonderful beach of Pampelonne and 4km from St Tropez and the picturesque village of Ramatuelle

The Pavillon de Pampelonne is an oasis of tranquillity situated amongst the hustle and bustle of one of France’s greatest holiday paradises. The beaches of Pampelonne at St Tropez. Now listed as an area of outstanding natural beauty the shore has 6kms of gently sloping sandy beach. For the last 30 years this has been one of the ‘in’ places to go throughout the summer.

The ‘Pavillon’ is owned by a British couple, Alison and Peter Dow who fell in love with it and bought it in May 2003, having seen the potential to make it one of the leading Maison d’Hôte in the area.

“We try to run it as part home, part hotel so that the formalities of service and cleanliness are observed but at the same time inviting guests to use all of the facilities in the house – there’s even an honesty bar where you tell us how much you drink!”

Situated in the Parc de Pampelonne (a private tree-lined park) and built in traditional Provencal style, the beamed public rooms and terraced swimming pool overlook the beach only 600metres away. With mature gardens and quiet lawn areas surrounding the house you can either indulge or escape for any part of your holiday.

The bedrooms, suites and apartments – named after the Pampelonne beaches - follow a number of styles situated around the main courtyard and swimming pool. Many have their own private terrace and all have either a bath or shower en suite.

Breakfast is served around the pool, on the private terraces surrounding the house or in your room. An evening meal is offered three times a week in high season and is available on demand during the off-peak months. Snack lunches are also available most days. If you have a special requirement we will endeavour to have it available for you.

The residence is situated at the top of Boulevard Patch close to the famous Club 55 on the main Route des Plages, 4km from St Tropez and 5kms from the picturesque hilltop villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle.

For those keen on sporting activities we can organise boat hire, local golf, horse riding and diving activities for you throughout the season.

The Pavillon de Pampelonne is a traditional style Provencal villa located in the heart of the Cote D'Azur about 4km from the centre of St Tropez and 600yds from the beach of Pampelonne. Built in 1973 it has undergone several transformations over the last 30 years. The current owners Alison and Peter Dow have spent several years transforming the house into one of the more prestigious villas that border the sea in this area of outstanding natural beauty.

The main house is built around a north facing courtyard and a south facing pool with a large terrace. From here you can see down to the beach at the foot of the hill. The house contains a large beamed lounge, a bright conservatory and indoor cinema all of which are available for the guests to use.

The swimming pool and terrace are the focus of activities at the house where you can relax and take in the fantastic sunny days of the Cote D'Azur. The gardens and surrounding of the house cover about an acre and contain several quiet areas where you can escape for some tranquil reflection. There is also a “boules” pitch, a giant chessboard and an outside cinema for evening performances after the sun goes down.

The house service style is that one would associate with a 'villa familiale', namely efficient but relaxed. We hate the strictness of Bed and Breakfasts and the stuffiness of hotels so we try to balance friendliness with efficiency. We have a small staff compliment that will endeavour to make your stay as comfortable as possible but also allow you to help yourself to things you may need from the fridge or cupboards. We endeavour to cover as many needs as we can but if you have special dietary needs please tell us before you arrive to avoid missing out on what you want.

The house is also ideally suited to the disabled and wheel chairs as the major facilities are located on one level and the driveways around the house are relatively even.

We can help you in organising helicopters, car or bike hire, taxis, beach bar and restaurant reservations, massage or excursions and can give advice on local trips or 'hot spots'. If we do not know we know a man who does!
